Hi, I’m Dana Whitfield, and I spent eighteen years teaching elementary school before I started this site.
Most of those years were spent in second and third grade classrooms, which is exactly the age range where coloring pages stop being busywork and start being a real teaching tool. I used them for indoor recess, for early finishers, for calming down a room after lunch, and for quiet reinforcement of whatever unit we were covering that week. Over the years I built up a personal library of pages I’d drawn, adapted, or put together for my own classroom, and after I left full-time teaching, a few former colleagues asked if I’d share them. That request turned into this site.
Everything here is built with an actual classroom or an actual living room in mind, not just a page that looks nice. The coloring pages are organized by age and by theme, and a lot of them come with a short teacher’s note explaining how I used to use that page or how another teacher might adapt it. The school guides section grew out of the same instinct: parents and new teachers kept asking me the same questions about supply lists, classroom routines, and transitioning between grade levels, so I started writing those down properly too.
The parenting tips you’ll find here aren’t clinical advice. They’re the practical, in-the-trenches kind that comes from eighteen years of watching what actually works with a room full of six through nine year olds, plus raising two kids of my own who are now teenagers and no longer let me pick their outfits.
My goal with this site has always been the same one I had in the classroom: make things easier for the adult trying to keep a kid engaged, whether that adult is a teacher, a homeschooling parent, or someone just trying to survive a rainy Saturday. Everything is free to print and use, and I add new pages and guides regularly based on what teachers and parents tell me they need.
